Murrah breed of buffalo, the pride of buffalo, is a milk type animal. The home tract of Murrah buffalo is Rohtak, Jind and Hisar districts of Haryana (India). It is also found in Nabha and Patiala districts of Punjab (India) and around Delhi and other state of India as well as in foreign country like Pakistan, Egypt, Brazil and Philippines.
They use it for milk production as well as meat also. Murrah buffalo has Sound built, heavy and wedge shaped body. Its head is comparatively small and face is comparatively long. The average height of Murrah male: 1.42 meter and female: 1.32 meter. The Murrah buffalo is good milk producer, not only in India but also probably in the world.
